Privacy policy
The short version
Pairfold has no accounts and no sign-up. Your progress stays on your device. The game is free and paid for by ads: short videos you can choose to watch for extra hints, and occasional full-screen ads between sheets. The ads are provided by Google, and in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we ask for your consent before ads may use personal data.

What is stored on your device
The game saves your progress (which grids you have finished and your stars), your daily grid results and streak, your remaining hints and your settings (sound, style, orb size) in your device's local storage. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. It is needed for the features you use, so no consent is required. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app's or site's data. The puzzles are generated and solved entirely on your device.
Advertising
In the Android and iPhone apps, ads are delivered by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). On the website, ads may be delivered by Google AdSense (H5 Games Ads). To show and measure ads, Google and its advertising partners process data such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
- Consent: when you first open the game in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a Google consent message asks whether ads may use personal data, for example to personalise them (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you decline, you will see non-personalised ads, which still use limited data such as your IP address for fraud prevention and frequency capping. You can change your choice at any time in Menu › Privacy choices.
- iPhone: iOS also asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Pairfold works the same whatever you choose.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings under Google › Ads.
How Google uses data from apps and sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. Google may transfer data outside the EU on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Hosting
The website is served by our web host, SiteGround (SiteGround Spain S.L.), on servers in the EU. When your browser downloads the game, the host's servers process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and time of access in order to deliver the files and protect the service, based on our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it). Because we hold no personal data about you, there is normally nothing to access or delete, but you can contact us at any time.
Children
The game content is suitable for all ages, but Pairfold is not directed at children under 13 because it contains ads. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
